Usher performed the Michael Jackson song Gone to Soon at the Michael Jackson Memorial Service. Michael Jackson was one of Usher’s idols. Towards the end he struggled to hold it together.

Dear Jermaine Jackson,
your brother Michael will forever be in our
hearts. His gifts touched all of us. His songs:
“Heal the World”, “Man in the Mirror” and
“Will You Be There”, and more have
encouraged many of us to use the good gifts
we all have inside ourselves. He taught us to
look for the good in each other, not to judge
or critize. His music reminds us that it’s love
that really matters. I know he must be now
singing with all the other Angels in Heaven.
God blessed us with Michael and you and all
your family.
